Dr Lawyer is a crook who hypnotises people, including Jeff, into committing crimes for him.
Biography
Dr. Lawyer is introduced as an extremely talented psychiatrist and founder of Trilby Park health farm who uses hypnotism and electroshock therapy to place his patients in a state of suggestibility. However, Lawyer has accrued extreme gambling debts after borrowing money from the casino manager known as The Mouth, who threatens to seize his clinic and inflict extreme pain on him if he does not pay back his debts.
Lawyer uses his patients to steal money and expensive items for him, even if this includes murder. When Jeff Randall comes to his practice with the intention of "curing" his belief in Marty's ghost, Lawyer begins to treat him (causing Marty's spirit to weaken considerably), and make him attack Jeannie. However, Marty is ultimately able to use his mimicry to impersonate Lawyer and free Jeff, before ordering (through Jeff) Lawyer's patients never to follow his orders again. The patients turn on Lawyer, who is last seen being seized by Lucy English, an extreme nymphomaniac.

At first glance Dr. Lawyer appears to be a personable and friendly man, albeit somewhat overconfident in his psychological skills. However, this facade disappears once he has Jeff under his control, wherein he becomes spiteful and cruel, as well as somewhat insecure, demanding patients refer to him as a genius. He is deathly afraid of the casino manager The Mouth, who is able to reduce him to a quivering wreck by promising what he will do if Lawyer does not pay off his gambling debts.
